Not so spooky Leafs: Halloween edition

The cool weather is here, gourds are a plenty, hockey is finally back, and spooky season is upon us. The Toronto Maple Leafs celebrated Halloween a little early this year according to their social media accounts with a food-themed costume party. Let’s take a look at their costumes and see what some of the Leafs came up with.
Nick Ritchie and Erica

nick ritchie will never not be funny to me but him and his girlfriend, erica, went as colonel sanders/kfc and wendy’s to the leafs halloween party + a bonus blurry wag group photo pic.twitter.com/N1NTrEA8Kl

Not going to lie, we’re off to a good start with Ritchie’s costume. The pair decided to bring the battle of fast food to life with their Wendy’s and KFC inspired costumes. Add a cloak and a wand, and I feel that Ritchie’s costume could double as a wizard, too.

Dermott wants to be stronger ally, Mrazek to travel with Leafs, and other happens in Leafland

The Leafs are a cool hockey team. They do fun stuff and are sometimes the first NHL team trying to help change the game of hockey.
Usually, this is Mer’s area of expertise with Page 6ix. But with her so busy with work, I thought I’d help bring back some of the fun Leafs news throughout the last week.
Starting with Travis Dermott’s tape job.

Travis Dermott has been using Pride Tape on his sticks more often this season, said it’s because “I have some family that is involved in the LGBTQ community. So I’d like to step forward and in the future take part in supporting them more vigorously.”

Dermott is an amazing person. You don’t see many players within the NHL who rock the Pride Tape throughout the season. One of the players that first comes to my mind for myself is Kurtis Gabriel, who’s currently with the Marlies.
And I’ll say that we need to see more of this support.
Sure, there’s Pride night, but seeing more players doing this on a regular basis would be nice. The fact that Dermott said he’d “like …

Rumours: The impact of Eichel possibly being available and TSN Trade Bait Board

So here’s the deal for all you cool cats and kitties, the Leafs are pretty tight lipped at the moment, so there isn’t a whole lot in the way of rumours connecting certain players directly to the Leafs. We don’t need any wild accusations of this being a clickbait post, but if we’re being perfectly honest, isn’t every rumours post a clickbait post?
No, we’re not dealing with specific players rumoured to the Leafs, we’re talking rumours around the league and the speculating where we can. That said, once we get something more tangible connecting the Leafs to someone, you better believe we’ll beat that into the ground. You’ve been warned.
Jack Eichel could be done in Buffalo
This comes up on almost an annual basis, but it really does seem like it’s happening for real this time. It certainly would be great if the Leafs could find a way of bringing Eichel into the fold in Toronto, and for a player of his calibre I’d argue the only untouchable is Matthews, but this ignores a couple of things. Despite the fact it would be an incredible upgrade for …
