Leafs still prioritizing defense, possible interest in Simmonds, and making room for Knies: Rumours

My apologies to anyone who has been paying attention over the past few weeks and has noticed that I tend to run the Rumours posts on Thursdays. Your commitment to TLN content is admirable, and I’m sorry for letting you down. To the rest of you who are just gleefully clicking on any fresh Leafs content, ignore all of that. It doesn’t matter when we run stuff and the once a week thing is largely just to keep ourselves in check that we aren’t going overboard with the rumour mongering. Presumably the delay this week is largely due to the fact that when a team is on barely beatable over a month and on a five game winning streak, you aren’t too focused on additions or subtractions from the lineup. Top Kansas City Royals executive ‘disgusted’ with Whit Merrifield’s comments on vaccination status

In case anyone is wondering, nobody in the Kansas City Royals organization are mad. They don’t want you to write that they’re mad.

“What I’ve seen and experienced, not what I’ve seen on social media, what I’ve seen and experienced people that are vaccinated have got [COVID-19] in this club house. People that are vaccinated have spread it in this clubhouse, to their families and whatnot. People have gotten pretty sick that are vaccinated. This is my opinion on it all. It’s what I’ve come to, based on the experienced and conversations I’ve had, and what I’ve seen, this is the conclusion I’ve come to. Right or wrong, I didn’t do it on a whim. It’s been a long thought process. Because I understand what Canada has in place right now. That’s the only reason that I would think about getting it at this point, is to go to Canada. That might change down the road. Something happens and I happen to get on a team that has a chance to go play in Canada in the postseason, maybe that changes. But as we sit here right now, I’m comfortable in my decision, my teammates support me, support the rest of the guys in here who have made that decision, and that’s that.”
So, to summarize: just because he sees …
