It was a long time coming, but the Toronto Blue Jays have finally won a series in 2019. With the 7-4 win over the Minnesota Twins this Thursday afternoon, the Jays have taken this four-game series.
For only the third time this season, the Jays have scored at least seven runs in a game. Severely lacking any consistent offence, this team has certainly improved after a disastrous couple of weeks to start their 2019 season. It seemed like they would just be a black hole of at-bats, but now some players are getting some heat.
Grichuk, Hernandez, and Smoak homered this afternoon and Eric freakin’ Sogard was able to bat in three runs.
The best thing to see from this game was this team having some fun. Destined to be a miserable team full of temporary players, for now they seem to at least be enjoying their game — at least there’s a couple of characters to get behind.
The Jays offence was fairly active in this one. Grichuk was able to hit 1-2 solo home run deep into left centre field in the first inning, his fourth on the year. In the fourth inning, Smoak hit a two-run home …
