Per the Minor League transactions page, the Toronto Blue Jays have signed right-hander Wes Parsons to a Minor League deal, adding some depth on the mound to the Jays’ farm system.

A Jackson State Community College product, Parsons signed with the Atlanta Braves as a free agent during the 2012 season after spending the summer with the Thunder Bay Bordercats in the wood bat Northwoods League. The 6’5″ 2o year old made his professional debut the following season in Single-A, spending all season with the Rome Braves where he posted a 2.63 ERA through 19 starts.
Over the next five seasons, Parsons continued to make his way up the Minor League ladder, working in both the rotation and the bullpen, advancing to Triple-A in 2017 and later making his MLB debut on August 8th, 2019 against the Washington Nationals. In the relief appearance, Parsons would eat up five innings and allow four earned runs compared to three strikeouts and three walks, ending up with the loss before being sent back down to Triple-A. Working as a reliever, the Clarksville, Tennessee product would make the Braves Opening Day roster and would amass a 3.52 ERA through 17 outings and 15 1/3 innings, striking batters out at a 7.0 K/9 clip and earning his first big league win against the Chicago Cubs on April 1st.
